I am almost speechless with horror as I read of your paternal grandparents, Alice. In the Jewish faith we often say "may their memories be for a blessing," when we speak of those no longer with us. I feel you are blessing your family with your research, and your courage in writing this.

Man, Alice, my heart is broken for what your family went thru, and for the anguish and horror you must have experienced upon learning more about their final days. And now those images are part of your story, and one you've shared with us. Thank you for carrying forward their strength, courage and resilience.

Dear Alice. This was a hard chapter to read. I'm sure it was very hard to write. And to uncover during your research. Thank you for helping us to learn.

How they suffered, and how you must have as you delved into the horrors your family faced. I am profoundly moved thinking of you writing this and all you must have felt. Gut wrenching.
