Too few voices of those forced into labor by the Nazis have been heard and I look forward to hearing more of what you have learned about what your mother and others experienced.

Once more I thank you for your scholarship, rigor and integrity. I can't imagine how painful it must have been to learn what your parents endured. I believe you bless them by this undertaking, and you bless us by offering us a larger awareness of reality. I look forward to the happy ending.

They say history is written by the victors. That may be. But that observation ignores the massive suffering that so often results from evil’s creep - a blind eye, a rationalization, a wilful ignorance bent on maintaining our status no matter the battering of others and to be frank, both cowardice and human bewilderment in the face of the unfathomable.

Is it possible Alice that we can get your parents’ story to a wider audience - for those naysayers and deniers of history in both our own country and south of our border, perhaps your careful research and family history might provide an epiphany to those who doubt the devastation caused by WWII

Heart wrenching, yet we know this evil lies in modern souls as well, slumbering for an opportunity. Thank you for your work, hard emotional work, to reveal the very personal nature of this history.

One wonders how human souls survive and even thrive. But the same kind of thing is happening now with the expansions into neighbouring lands and peoples by Russia and Israel.
