A special fairy tale with a wonderful real life outcome. I love how you are taking us through all the pieces of the quilt in your family history - your parents, you, your husband, and now the next generation. Thank you!

I remember crying with you, when you you told me you were going to Poland to adopt a baby. And I cried again, reading this article! What a beautiful, fabulous baby you brought home! Shout out to the fairy godmother.

Alice, I enjoyed hearing about your adventure into motherhood. All the stars lined up during that special time!

Alexandra means “defender/protector of man”. That’s your girl. You “did good” dear Alice. And Alex follows in her parents’ footsteps.

What a lovely story. I am so happy for you that the forces all aligned. We also adopted, from Russia. Sadly, the court documents were sealed and our daughter is not allowed to know anything about her parents. Did Alexandra keep in touch with her Polish family?

A wonderful piece. There is a kind of powerful restraint in how you write about these converging, life-changing events. Looking forward to next week!

I love these snippets of your life Alice. I remember being on the same plane as you as far as Amsterdam where we went our separate ways.you got on with a child’s carrier. We said hello.

I am left wanting to know if you kept in touch with Alexandra’s birth mother. I look forward to the next chapter.
